Does it exist?  We can view all diagrams in all pages regardless of page security

Hi Brian

Thanks for reaching out in the community. Document security exists within our product. With the confluence integration if a Lucidchart document is inserted into a confluence page then those with access to that confluence page will have access to that document.

Yes, document security does exist, but it depends on how it’s implemented.

If users can view all diagrams regardless of page security, it usually means:

Permissions are set at a document level, not page/section level

The platform doesn’t support granular access controls

Or user roles are configured too broadly

True document security includes role-based access control, encryption, authentication, and audit logs. If page-level restrictions aren’t working, the issue is likely with configuration or platform limitations, not that document security itself doesn’t exist.

Hi @outreach, thanks for adding to this thread with your insight!

Lucid is dedicated to keeping your data private, secure, and safe. When it comes to permissions necessary to view documents in your account, I recommend checking out the Share with collaborators article in Lucid article from the Lucid Help Center.

Specifically, Lucid provides four tiers of sharing permissions that you can choose from when sharing documents, and folders as described here

  • Can edit and share
  • Can edit
  • Can comment
  • Can view

Do you have a specific question about gaining access to documents, or viewing documents on your account?
