Below is a list of frequently asked questions regarding what is currently supported within the Process Accelerator. Knowing these expected behaviors upfront will help you avoid roadblocks during your approval and publishing cycles.
General compatibility
Can I import non-Lucid files (PDFs, Word docs, or videos) into a repository?
No. Repositories only support native Lucid documents. Formats like CSVs, PDFs, videos, and Google Docs are not supported.
Does Lucid’s Process Accelerator support BPMN or XML files?
You can import BPMN files, but BPMN export is not supported. XML import and export are completely unavailable at this time.
Can I import individual Lucidchart pages or Lucidspark breakout boards into a repository as separate documents?
No. Documents with multiple pages or breakout boards cannot be imported into a repository as individual process documents.
Approvals and publishing
Why is my Lucid document blocked from publishing when I update custom tags?
This is expected behavior. The system requires a visual change to the canvas to trigger an approval flow. Metadata changes, such as updating tags or classifications, do not create a new version for publishing.
Can I invite external partners or clients to join an approval flow?
No. Approval flows are restricted to users on your Lucid account. External users cannot trigger or participate in these flows.
What happens to a Lucid document if the owner leaves the account during an approval?
If a user submits an approval request and then leaves the account before it is finalized, the document will remain stuck in the approval table. To remedy this, the repository owner must access the stuck document via the approval requests table, make a copy of it, and re-import that copy into the repository.
Organization and templates
How do Lucid templates work within a repository?
While you can add a template to a repository and approve it, it will not behave like a standard template. Any suggested changes or edits will update the original template file rather than creating a new starting point for the user.
Can I restrict access to specific folders within a repository?
No. Permissions are handled at the repository level. You cannot restrict individual folders or specific assets within a repository.
