Please provide a way to turn this feature off. UML diagrams often use the - to indicate method/attribute visibility in classes and with it auto bulleting this makes it difficult.

Thanks for posting in the Lucidchart Community I am happy to help! It is currently not possible to disable this functionality. However we're always looking for ways to improve Lucidchart and your feedback is the best way for us to do that. Would you mind adding your idea to our feature request form? Ideas submitted to this form are passed on to the product development team for their consideration.
As a workaround you can add characters right after the dash (without pressing space) and then move your cursor back after the dash to add the space (see gif below).

+20Hi @creeves good news! Wanted to follow up on this thread with an update - this is now fixed! Adding a "-" in UML shapes no longer automatically converts to a bullet point. I hope this helps! Give it a try yourself and let us know if you have any additional questions!
