I have a large org chart and all seems to be working, however there is one particular person whose name is in the data, but it doesn’t appear in the box on the org chart. The “Name” field is ticked, but toggling it makes no difference to the appearance. There are over 100 other boxes that all work fine. I update the data in the chart via an Excel import. I’ve tried clearing overrides and all that does is reset the size of the box. I tried deleting the box, reimporting the data, and it imports again without the name. There seems to be no way to enable the name field for this person. Any ideas?

Hi @Andrew B105

To troubleshoot the issue, begin by verifying the data integrity of the specific person's entry in your Excel spreadsheet.

Inspect the data for differences, special characters, or unnecessary spaces that may be causing the problem.

Additionally, confirm that the text color is not accidentally set to match the background color, rendering it invisible.

Further diagnostic steps include creating a duplicate of your organizational chart to determine if the issue persists in the new version, helping to isolate the root cause.

Also, take a look into the help article and see any steps could checkpoints are worth double assuring.

Thanks for that. In the end I duplicated the row in Excel, assigned him a new Employee ID, changed the reporting IDs for his reports, deleted the old one and reimported and he came in fine. The issue above was that although he had a name in the data pane, there was just no way to get it to display. It wasn’t like it was blank, the field just wouldn’t show up. There was no empty space.

Upon further investigation, I am unable to add new names to boxes that didn’t have names before. The Lucid data is updated with the new information from the spreadsheet, but the name won’t display in the box. I can change the role title and that is reflected so changes are definitely happening. If I add a new role that appears fine.

A colleague has solved it. The org chart boxes were all set to hide empty fields. If we turned this setting off, all the new data appeared. If it was turned on again, they stayed. So it seems like there was some sort of glitch where it was seeing the fields as empty even though the latest imports had put data in there. Seems like a bug to me?

Hi @Andrew B105, I’m glad to hear that your colleague seems to have found what was causing the issue! That is odd behavior relating to the “Hide Empty Field” Setting, please let me know if that issue arises again and I’d be happy to take a closer look!
