Is it possible to create an org chart where duplicate roles are combined into one box? We have roles where there are 50+ individuals reporting into one manager, and the organisation chart templates want to split these into individual boxes, however in our previous software, we were able to create multi-user boxes.

There is no built-in feature to merge multiple individuals into a single org chart box for shared roles. To delegate you can manually group people into one box by editing the chart after import or by pre-processing your data to list multiple names in a single cell before importing.
This approach ensures your org chart remains clear, manageable, and easy to navigate, even with large teams sharing the same role.
