Question

More uncontrolled pasting issues

Since the other thread is closed, I am opening a new one.

I was working on 6 documents and only of them have started the issue.  It will paste an object from another document into this broken document.  Once you delete it, it immediately pastes it again either in the same place or where the cursor is.  If I click the mouse button, it pastes the object where ever the cursor is.  This is ONLY happening on one of the documents.

Here is what I have tried to fix this. I am on a Mac.

  • I tried Edge.
  • I tried Chrome.
  • I tried an incognito window.
  • I had a co-worker in another state with a Windows machine log into the document.  It did it for him too.
  • I made a copy of the document, same thing.
  • I deleted a bunch of the tabs from the copied document, still happens.
    • In fact, when you pull up a tab, it pastes the object into that tab immediately.
  • I went into history and restored to before I updated it today (it was last year).  Same issue on the restored document.

It is not a browser issue given the facts above.  It appears to be corruption in the document itself.  Please help as this document is needed for an audit.

Adding to this issue.  When I logged out of the normal session and only was logged in to the incognito session, the issue stopped. When my co-worker re-opened the document, the issue started again.  He logged out and I was able to fix the document.  Seems to be something that can move to users sessions.

EDIT: After fixing the issues and being logged out of normal browser sessions.  A third co-worker logged into the document to edit it and it pasted something from their last session into the document as well and won’t stop.  So its does seem to be in the document.
