Mind mapping - tab to add horizontal branch not working. Using Chrome. Can you help?

Good morning @Barny-Croft ,

I just created a new mind map in Chrome using a mind map shape from Lucidchart and I was able to use the tab key to add new legs to my mind map horizontally both in Lucidchart and product switching to Lucidspark. Can you tell me more about your mind map? Did you create it from a template? Were you editing it in Lucidspark or Lucidchart?

Hi Chantelle,

I have tried again this morning on an existing mind map and created a new one with the same result: enter works (although pressing enter once creates a vertical child, which is unhelpful as you then need to use mouse to navigate to other “children”), tab doesn’t. I’m using lucid chart, but I tried on lucid park with the same result. I am using a template called Thought Web Weaver.

Hi - seems to have “unstuck” itself and is working now!

Hi @Barny-Croft,

I’m glad to hear it’s working again! Occasionally the shortcut keys can get “stuck” due to a browser hiccup or a specific template state. If you run into the issue again, a quick refresh of the page or opening a new mind map usually resolves it.

If the behavior keeps coming back, please let us know which browser version and template you’re using so we can pass the details along to our product team.

Thanks for following up and confirming it’s working now!
