Is there a way to paste a diagram from Lucidchart into Adobe Framemaker such that the text search will still work in Framemaker as well as in a PDF after it is produced by Framemaker? Same question when pasting into Microsoft Word. I am using the standard copy/paste procedure in Windows. Text search seems to get lost when exporting or copy/pasting to another application such as Adobe Framemaker.
Hi
I initially thought of giving a try with SVG, and realized that when we open the SVG in FrameMaker or Word, the text is treated as part of the graphic, making it non-searchable
- For optimal results, when inserting Lucidchart diagrams into different document types.
- For FrameMaker users, exporting a PDF from Lucidchart and inserting it is the best option. Alternatively, for Word users, exporting an Enhanced Metafile can help retain text quality.
However, for maximum searchability in FrameMaker, consider manually re-entering key text alongside the diagram to ensure optimal Findability.
Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards
Hi
Unfortunately, the ability to copy/paste from Lucid into Adobe Framemaker or Microsoft Word is not formally supported by Lucid at this time, so you may not have the optimal experience doing so. We are very interested in your feedback and committed to continually improving our products.
If you’d like to see this feature implemented, I would suggest upvoting the post below and adding any additional feedback within the thread:
If you desire to, please also feel free to also create a new idea that will go into the Product Feedback space of this community to collect feature requests and ideas. Our product development teams review this space as they research product enhancements and new features.
Additionally, to search for specific integrations, I suggest checking out the Integrations Marketplace. There, you can find more information on our integrations like what is currently offered within the Microsoft Word Integration.
