Lucid MCP Server: OAuth Timeout Issues

Hello there. I’m having intermittent (mostly failing) MCP connection issues across a broad number of AI clients (MCP Inspector, Claude) as well as on our MCP security gateway (barndoor.ai). I tracked it down to OAuth flow taking too long.

  • Metadata discover (fast)
  • Dynamic client registration (1.5s)
  • Auth - granting permission (15.5s+)
  • Token request/exchange (12.5s+)

Those last two steps are likely causing the timeouts we’re seeing on AI clients as well as on the gateway.

I also tried a few variants today to connect up, using differing browsers etc and different AI tools, the same error seemed consistent with OAUTH not working as expected from the Lucid end, so unable to establish up any MCP connections.  My comment is just to say I am experiencing similar issues too.. (not smart enough to know if timeout, but it failed at Lucid end with that process - I have not yet managed to get it to connect even once).
