Hello,

I am a student and I want to create an educational account. I have some questions if you could clarify.

  1. If I have the educational account I can collaborate with various people on a document and also can add unlimited shapes or objects right ?
  2. Do people with whom I am going to share the document and collaborate also need to have educational account to have unlimited shapes or object?
  3. People with whom I am going to share the document and collaborate are also able to add unlimited shapes right ?

Hi @aaryaman

Great questions! I’m happy to clarify how Lucidchart’s Educational Account works for collaboration and shape limits.

1️⃣ Collaboration & Unlimited Shapes – Yes! With a Lucidchart Educational Account, you can collaborate in real time with multiple users and access unlimited shapes and objects in your diagrams.

2️⃣ Do collaborators also need an Educational Account? – If you share your document with others, they do not need an Educational Account to collaborate, but their experience may depend on their account type:

  • If they also have an Educational Account, they will enjoy the same unlimited shapes and full editing access.
  • If they have a free non-educational account, their editing capabilities may be limited by the free plan’s shape limit.

3️⃣ Can collaborators add unlimited shapes? – If they have an Educational Account, yes! They will be able to add unlimited shapes just like you. However, if they are on a free non-educational plan, they may experience shape limitations when editing shared documents.

If your collaborators are also students or educators, I highly recommend that they sign up for an Educational Account to fully benefit from the features!

Let me know if you need any further details—happy to help! 😊

Thanks for your response @Ria S. This is all correct!

To add to @Ria S  response, with a free educational account, only your 3 most recently created documents are editable. Any prior documents are available as view-only.

Thanks!
