In February 2026, Lucid released a new Smartsheet integration that is compatible with Timelines and Dynamic Tables. The new integration can be installed by Enterprise users at any time. If you are currently using the original Lucid Cards for Smartsheet integration, you will see both that version and the new integration available in your account after installation. The original integration will remain available until it is deprecated in July 2026. After the deprecation date, Lucid Cards synced via the original integration will remain on your canvas but will no longer sync with Smartsheet data.

For information and documentation about the new integration, check out our Integrate Lucid Cards with Smartsheet article from the Lucid Help Center. If you need information about the original integration, continue reading this post.

Integrate Lucid Cards with Smartsheet (original documentation)

With the Lucidspark and Smartsheet platform integration, users are able to visualize Smartsheet projects more easily. Users can save time by creating projects and keeping them up to date as they collaborate and brainstorm with others. Read this article to learn how to sync with Smartsheet projects and make changes.

By syncing with the Smartsheet platform, collaborators will be able to view and edit your Smartsheet content that is linked with Lucidspark. Any edits collaborators make to the Smartsheet content will be performed on your behalf and will show in Smartsheet content as edits made by you.

Link Lucidspark with Smartsheet

The first step is to authenticate Lucidspark into Smartsheet. Here’s how.

  1. Click more-tools-icon-from-lucidspark-primary-toolbar.png the More tools icon from the Primary Toolbar on the left-side of the canvas.
  2. Select smartsheet_icon.png the Smartsheet icon from the left toolbar.
  3. Click Add to Smartsheet.
  4. In the pop-up menu, select Sign In.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. Select Allow to grant Lucidspark access to Smartsheet.

Tip: Drag the Smartsheet icon from the “More tools” menu into the Primary Toolbar to pin it to the main portion of the toolbar.

Connect a different Smartsheet account

To connect a different Smartsheet account to Lucidspark, disconnect the current account and sign in with different credentials the next time you connect a Smartsheet to Lucidpark. Here’s how:

  1. Click your account icon in the top-right corner of lucid.app.
  2. Select Account Settings.
  3. Click Apps & Integrations in the navigation menu on the left.
  4. Select Lucidspark.
  5. Scroll down to the “Lucid Cards for Smartsheet” section.
  6. Click Disconnect.

You can then select Connect to connect your new account, or follow the steps in the "Link Lucidspark with Smartsheet" section above.

Note: Boards linked to a previous Smartsheet account will remain linked to the original Smartsheet but the sync will no longer work because the credentials are now authenticated with a different account.

Add Lucidspark content to a Smartsheet row

Convert existing shapes into Lucid Cards

To add an existing Lucidspark shape to a Smartsheet project:

  4. In the pop-up menu, select an existing Smartsheet from the drop-down menu.
  5. Click Add to Smartsheet.
    • A pop-up will appear asking you to Confirm Adding to Smartsheet. You can check the box to not see this message again.

Each Lucid Card added in a board correlates with a row in your Smartsheet project.

Add a new Smartsheet row in Lucidspark

  1. Click more-tools-icon-from-lucidspark-primary-toolbar.png the More tools icon from the Primary Toolbar on the left-side of the canvas.
  2. Select smartsheet_icon.png the Smartsheet icon from the left toolbar.
  3. Click New Smartsheet row.
  4. In the pop-up menu, select an existing Smartsheet from the drop-down menu.
  5. Click Add to Smartsheet.

Import existing Smartsheet rows as Lucid Cards

  1. Click more-tools-icon-from-lucidspark-primary-toolbar.png the More tools icon from the Primary Toolbar on the left-side of the canvas.
  2. Select smartsheet_icon.png the Smartsheet icon from the left toolbar.
    • If the Lucidspark board is already connected to a Smartsheet project, you will only be able to import tasks from that project.
  3. Click Import Smartsheet rows.
  4. Check the boxes next to the tasks you want to import.
  5. Click Import rows.

Lucidspark will import the tasks onto the board as Cards that are synced with Smartsheet. Any changes you make in one platform will be reflected in the other.

Edit Lucid Card details

To edit the details of Lucid Cards for Smartsheet and keep things up to date with the two-way sync, follow these steps:

  1. Select a Lucid Card and select the pencil icon.
  2. Edit cell values using the drop-downs.
    • Changes are automatically saved and updated but to improve the two-way sync, manually save your changes often.

Changes you make to a Lucid Card are automatically updated in the Smartsheet platform. Likewise, details updated and saved in a linked Smartsheet row are reflected in the linked Lucid Card. However, if a Lucid Card is deleted from a board, the associated Smartsheet row will not be deleted — this action simply unlinks the connection.

FAQ

How often do I need to save my work to improve performance between Lucidspark and Smartsheet?
Save changes made in Smartsheet content often. Saving changes frequently while working in Smartsheet projects will make the two-way sync with Lucidspark faster.

Can I link more than one Smartsheet to a Lucidspark board?
Right now we support only one existing Smartsheet per Lucidspark board. Please reach out to us if you have questions about this as we are working on adding more Smartsheet projects to a single board.

Who can make changes to Smartsheet in Lucidspark?
If you share the Lucidspark board with others, they’ll see the Smartsheet items but cannot make changes until they connect their own Lucidspark account with Smartsheet. Once connected, other users can also make changes to Smartsheet rows, as well as create new ones by converting Lucidspark shapes

If I make changes in Smartsheet, will those changes show in Lucidspark?
Yes, the integration is a two-way sync.

Can I create a new Smartsheet from Lucidspark?
Not currently. Best practice is to have your destination Smartsheet project completely set up before adding Lucidspark content. Eventually we plan on adding functionality for you to create new Smartsheet projects right out of Lucidspark.
