I am doing the database design of a medium-complex system.  In my current software, which lacks online collaboration (reason for looking to change) I can create an ERDiagram, and then copy it into a second project, and the model names/fields are synchronized, so that if I add database field to one project its updated across all projects.  I assumed that this would be a basic feature in UML editors… but I don’t see any equivalent strategy in lucidCharts?  I signed up for a Team account, and I see “data linking” in Enterprise, which is probably out of my approved price range but I don’t know if that would accomplish my ask.

Any advice on if this is possible in LucidCharts?

As a basic example of what I mean, I copied/pasted the user model from the default starter example, then changed the name of the one of the left, and I want the one on the right to also update.

Hi @bgilmer

Currently, syncing ER diagram shapes or models across multiple pages within a document is not supported.

  • When an entity is copied to another page, it becomes a standalone element, and any changes made to it will not be automatically reflected on other pages.

While data linking features enable linking shapes to external data sources for updating displayed values, they do not provide native synchronization of models or fields across diagrams or pages.

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards
