Is anyone else having issues Linking Tickets together via the Lucid JIRA Integration?
I just recently discovered the Lucidspark JIRA integration that lets you import JIRA tickets into a timeline like view and even create JIRA tickets by converting your cards into JIRA cards. This has been a great way to visualize large features and project velocity and identify potential issues, however, I noticed that while the UI lets me drag a connector between JIRA cards and set the type of linking between them (E.G. blocks), the connector disappears and I receive an error message about not having permission to create or change ticket linking.
This is odd to me, because I can go into JIRA and manually link the two tickets together just fine and see the change reflected on Lucidspark, so the issue seems to be between Lucidspark and JIRA. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
It’s almost like my Lucidspark JIRA integration is missing the required linking scope, but if that were the case I’d expect to see more people posting about this issue...

Could you please confirm whether you're currently utilizing the Lucidspark Boards Connector for Jira?
Then again, if you're already using Lucid Cards, try disconnecting and then reconnecting the Jira integration within Lucidspark and give a try.

@Humas1985 I disconnected my Lucid Cards for Jira and reconnected it but the issue persists:
I noticed when I was reconnecting my account this time that the permissions being granted to the integration don’t list issue linking.
And issue link writing is a separate scope that must be requested by the integration, but I don’t know if the above list of permissions is generated automatically based on the scopes requested or is manually written.

Hi all - thank you for the reports here. My name is Spencer Cowley and I’m the Product Manager at Lucid over the Jira Cards and dependency mapping features. This is an issue we’ve had users run into once or twice before and this post helps me to know we need to add better support documentation.
There are two cases when we receive this error from Jira:
1. The user does not have permissions to create issue links in Jira (therefore, we can’t create the links from Lucid → Jira)
2. The “Linked Issues” field has not been added to the Issue “screen” in Jira for that project/issue type.
My assumption in many of these cases, #2 is what is causing the issue. This article walks through the steps to add a field to the screen. Specifically, you will want to look to add the “Linked Issues” field to the project that is having issues with linking. This is what it may look like:
We aren’t sure why Jira allows you to create linked issues from Jira but not via their API when the “Linked issues” field isn’t added to their screen. We’ve reported this as a bug to them in the past but I will also follow up again.

Thank you for reaching out. I let our JIRA admin know and they were able to update our project accordingly.
