You can import previous work from FigJam into Lucidspark using copy and paste. Refer to our Import files into Lucidspark for information on all the file import options that are available in Lucidspark. Read on in this post for details on what content is supported/unsupported with copy and paste, as well as details on how to import an image of unsupported content from FigJam into Lucidspark.

Copy and paste capabilities

With the functional copy and paste import (instructions found in this article), you can migrate:

  • Sticky notes
  • Shapes
  • Mind maps (imported as shapes)
  • Sections (imported as frames)
  • Tables
  • Text
  • Lines
  • Stamps (not including profile picture stamps)

With copy and paste import, you cannot migrate:

  • Drawings (created using the marker, highlighter, or washi tape tools)
  • Images
  • Stickers
  • Widgets
  • Figma content

Import unsupported content as an image

For any of the unsupported content listed above that isn’t available for functional migration, you do still have the option to import an image into Lucidspark. This will retain the visual fidelity of the content, but will not migrate as editable content in Lucidspark. This method is best for copying content for documentation purposes or migrating images.

To import your FigJam or Figma content as an image, follow these steps:

  1. In a FigJam or Figma board, highlight and copy any content you want to move to Lucidspark by using the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+Shift+C (on PC) and Cmd+Shift+C (on Mac).
  2. In a Lucidspark board, right-click and select Paste.
    • Keyboard shortcuts to paste: Ctrl+V (on PC) and Cmd+V (on Mac).

All copied content will appear as a single image on your Lucidspark board. If you wish to migrate two images on a board, you may consider copying each image separately and pasting them separately to keep them separate on your board.

FAQ

Can I edit my documents once they are migrated?
Yes! Your content will paste as fully functioning Lucidspark content so you can edit all of the content on the board. This is not applicable if you insert your content as an image.
Note that your content may not come over looking exactly like it did in FigJam. Your content will come over as Lucidspark content, so there may be a few expected differences. Adjusting visual fidelity on your boards is easy and quick.

How much manual adjustment will I need to do after a migration?
Expect to adjust about 20-30% of your FigJam content from the migration.

I don’t know how to adjust fidelity items on my import. How do I learn?
Lucidspark is easy to learn, and may even feel similar to FigJam. To learn how to use Lucidspark, check out our
Whiteboarding Foundations course or refer to our Welcome to Lucidspark article.

I tried importing my Figma content, but it didn’t look right. What should I do?
Figma content is not supported with the copy and paste import. You may only import FigJam content. To migrate any unsupported content, copy it as an image and paste it as an image onto your Lucidspark board.

This does not seem to work. It just pastes the content as text.

Hi @dustin.hansen, thanks for your comment here! Sorry you’re running into trouble with this but I’m happy to help.

To clarify, have you attempted to import from FigJam following these steps?

Would you mind sending me the following information so that I can take a closer look?

  • The specific content types/shapes from FigJam you’re hoping to copy/paste into your Lucidspark board
  • A screenshot of the shapes in FigJam and the result of copy/paste in Lucidspark

Thank you for your help and patience!

Hey, I’m facing the same issue. I’m trying to copy simple sticky from FigJam, but they are copied as simple text into the Lucid. Also shapes and connectors are not copied at all. Inside FigJam it looks like this:

But after copying into the Lucid looks like this:

Hi @Gintaras and @ebmuench, thank you for your comments here and I’m sorry that you’re running into trouble with this. I’m happy to help here?

Could you share a temporary Document Support PIN for this document? This will help me take a closer look at what’s going on. This PIN is safe to post in this thread because it is only accessible by members of the Lucid support staff. You can find steps for generating a Support PIN in this Lucid Help Center article: Generate a Lucid Support PIN

Thank you in advance for your help and patience here as we look into this further!
