I would like to generate a chart from an outline file (text).

In a competitor's tool ( simplemind.eu ) I am able to simply say File / Open and automatically generate a chart from a text file containing an outline (different levels of indentation).  They also allow exporting an outline, for offline modification.

I can’t find such a feature within Lucid.  Does it exist, please?

Lucidchart supports several similar features that may be useful to you:

Both utilize a text input to generate a diagram, but do require specific formatting.
