You used to be able to superscript using the top bar. That was apparently removed. How can you superscript text now? Please help

Hi @mpotter5, thank you for posting in the Lucid Community! And thank you @Kim Nunn as well as @PJ B. for chiming in.

It looks like you've come across the new way to edit objects in Lucidchart.

This change is intentional. We reorganized editing controls so the ones you use most are faster to reach: your most common controls now live in a mini bar right above your selected shape, instead of a fixed toolbar at the top of the screen you'd have to look away from your work to use.

Here are a couple quick tips:

  • The mini bar also only shows controls relevant to what you've selected, so you're not scanning past options that don't apply.
  • You can drag that bar anywhere on your canvas.
  • The right panel to the right of your canvas (under the Share button) has those same controls, plus more advanced options, if you need them.

For superscript specifically, Select text > Open right panel as such:

Then, head to Text section and click on Text settings:

There, you’ll be able to find the Superscript option, as such:

If you have any further questions or run into any issues, please let me know and I'd be happy to help!

Cheers

Just to confirm, you are interested in formatting text as superscript within Lucidchart rather than Lucidspark, correct? In Lucidchart, you can apply superscript by selecting the Text Options Menu from the top toolbar. While these formatting options are not available in Lucidspark, you can select Edit in Lucidchart in the top-left corner to format your text before returning to Lucidspark.

I do not see a top toolbar in Lucidchart anymore

I’ve tried to figure out how you could make the top toolbar disappear, and the only way I can see it happening is if you’re in Fullscreen mode, which hides all 4 sides of lucid toolbars, but also gives an arrow to collapse and expand it:

At the top of your screen, is there a small grey box with an arrow (either up or down) like the pictured one? Can you click it? Or does anything change if you click the full screen button on the bottom right?
