How to rotate door icons in floor plans

Nothing I do will make a door attach to a wall object swinging in the right direction. There appears to be 4 doors in the "doors and windows" group thing. Sorry I have screen shots of all this but the forum here seems to do a very poor job of embedding images. Nothing I do will get any of the door objects to attach to the wall in the correct orientation and it's driving me insane. I can't find anything that allows me to rotate the door into the correct orientation. What gives?

Hi @RyanOly, thank you for following up in this thread!

Doors are shapes which positioning depends on the wall it is placed in. Therefore, it is not possible to rotate doors alone at this time, this would have to be done by changing the tilt of the wall. As a workaround, you can use the wall shape to set the angle you need > place the door in the wall > copy and paste the door where needed as it will remain at the angle set within the wall.

I can definitely see how this functionality could be improved, though!

Hi Geoff

Thanks for posting in the Lucidchart community!

I have attached a short video on how this functionality works. You will first drag your door onto the canvas and use the purple square icon to flip the door's hinges:

I hope this helps! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reply to this post!

That would be flipping a door but not rotating it.  Like at a 45 degree.  And it’s just for that door type not some of the others.

I have the same problem with icons.  I cannot find any way to rotate an icon.  Even a constrained set of 90-degree options would work for my current use-case, but I cannot find even that.

Hi @MichiganderPaul , thank you for posting in Lucid community! Sorry to hear you’re having this issue! I hope I can help clarify.

We do have a couple of items named icons. Are you referring to icons from images? I attached a short video below to help guide the rotation option in reference to this.

In regards to the other icon feature shown in the image below, those icons can’t actually be rotated.

Hope this helps with your current use-case! Let me know if this is what you are referring to or if you have any follow up questions!
