How to manually set the size of floor plan shapes in Lucid
I’m creating an office storage floor plan where we will have lots of cabinets and it will be a tight squeeze. Every inch is going to count. I want to create a shape that will be 18 x 36.25 inches. Is there really no way to get down to this level of detail? I can only drag the shape around on the canvas to adjust the size?
I found this menu, but I can only adjust the shape size in pixels which is not helpful.

I think I might be able to help! If you right click on the canvas, you should see an option for “Board settings.” If you click on that, and the click on “Open board settings,” there should be an option for you to change your grid to inches instead of pixels. Hope this helps!
Hello, I don’t have an option for Board Settings, only Document Settings. Under Document Settings, the unit is already set to inches.
Ah, my bad! I was looking at the options on Lucid Spark instead of Lucid Chart.
Hi @allisonl, just chiming in with more suggestions: If the units of your document settings is already set to inches, the shape options menu should also display inches:
Could you please confirm if your shape options are still showing as pixels? Do you have any floor plan shapes already added to your canvas? This information will help us take a closer look at what you’re seeing.
Thanks in advance for your help! Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
Sorry, I guess I didn’t word my question correctly. My pink shape below is 1’6” x 3’1”. If I wanted to make it 3’ instead of 3’1”, it looks like the only way to do that is by dragging the shape around on the canvas, which is extremely cumbersome. The shape options menu shows fractions of inches, not measurements such as 1’6”. Am I missing a way to just type in the dimensions of the shape?
Hi @allisonl, thank you for clarifying your question! Unfortunately, this isn’t currently supported in Lucid, but we’re very interested in your feedback and committed to continually improving our products.
