Did you recently come back to Lucidchart and find an incredibly frustrating and poorly documented “auto-arrange” feature clogging up your workflow  by auto-snapping objects in certain containers? The setting your are probably looking for is to remove the assisted layout.

  1. Close all the pop-up windows the Lucidchart wants to show you, in my case this panel was completely obstructed by a helpful hint popup on top and a document setting popup on the bottom
  2. Double-click on your swimlane and a panel should open up on the right (and close any other new popups that may have popped up)
  3. Under assisted layout, click disable.

Hi @jacksontolb, thank you for posting in the community and sharing those steps!

For additional context - assisted layout is a new feature which helps optimize the appearance and organization of your Lucid document. When this feature is enabled, it organizes content into an adjustable grid pattern within Frames, Containers, and swim lanes, automatically adjusting space as needed when content is added or removed. You can find more information about this feature in this Help Center article.

I hope this helps. Feel free to let us know if you have any questions about this feature!
