I am trying to create a link within my personal account (or a Team) a document that was shared with me. You can see the error below. Doesn’t seem like it should matter where something was shared from, but I haven’t found anything on the topic. Thanks!

Hi @gcoleman-broadview

Kindly ensure that the document owner or team administrator to request share permissions. Also, ensure that your current access level explicitly includes sharing capabilities, as merely having view or edit access may not suffice.

To learn more - Share with collaborators in Lucid – Lucid

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards

Hi @gcoleman-broadview, thanks for posting in the Lucid Community! In addition to @Humas1985’s suggestions here, I would like to mention that you can create a shortcut to a document that has been shared with you by dragging it into “My Documents” or a folder you have created in your Lucid Home Page.

Shortcuts are indicated by lucidchart-icon-with-shortcut-arrow.png an arrow icon that will appear on the product-specific icon found to the left of the document title. It appears in your screenshot that the document titled Meridian link is a shortcut. Documents with shortcuts will retain their original sharing permissions.

Are you hoping to change the document’s location entirely? When you add a shortcut to one of your folders, it will not change the document’s original location within Lucid.

Thank you both. The issue is that I am trying to drag it into the Documents and the other one referenced (MeridianLink) is in someone’s personal space, so it appears this error is limited by creating a shortcut from a Team as mentioned in the error itself. I will try the permissions, but that does seem weird to need elevated permissions to create a shortcut.

@Humas1985  - What level of permissions are required?

Thank you both again!

Gregg

Hi @gcoleman-broadview

From my perspective, edit and share access should suffice

Regards

Thank you @Humas1985 - I will give it a try and report back.

Thank you @Ambar D  - Unfortunately, that does not answer the question for the error I received per @Humas1985 . That only applies under shared documents from personal accounts., not Team accounts.

Hi @gcoleman-broadview, thanks for reporting back here! I’m sorry you’re still having trouble.

Can you confirm if you have Edit + Share permission on the Team Folder itself, apart from any documents?

Can you please send a temporary Support PIN for one of the documents you are having trouble creating a shortcut for? This will allow me to take a closer look at the issue you’re experiencing. For more information on generating a Support PIN, check out this Help Center article. These PINs are only accessible by Lucid support staff, so you can share the PIN within this thread safely.

Thanks in advance for your help and patience here!
