I have a container object. I put another container object inside of it. I put other shapes inside these containers. Each container is magnetized.

I click the parent container to select it. I do cmd-c to copy it. I move my mouse pointer to where I want to paste it, hit cmd-v. only the parent container is pasted. nothing inside is pasted.

I searched the docs and the community forums, but found nothing on this.

To copy and paste a container along with the shapes or other containers inside it, follow these steps:

  1. Click and drag your mouse over the parent container.
This will select the parent container as well as any shapes or containers inside it. 0_0?a=2737&x=386&y=-6605&w=1100&h=652&store=1&accept=image%2F*&auth=LCA%20f1040d9a55df579ee19ee6d00c3cea0b3dde8d7082fd384e169859d48ea8a467-ts%3D1759771967

  2. Right-click on the selected area and choose “Copy” from the menu.
    – Or use the shortcut: Cmd+C (on Mac) or Ctrl+C (on Windows).

  3. Paste the copied container wherever you'd like.
    – You can use Cmd+V (Mac) or Ctrl+V (Windows) to paste.

This should paste the entire container along with all of its contents.

Let me know if you run into any issues!

@kkipipeline since you use the command key, I can tell that you’re using a Mac product. However, as a volunteer, this stumps me, so I’m gonna “phone a friend” so to speak. @Amelia W @Mj Z @Ambar D @Micah @Abby S
