Hi, I’m actually working with loads of charts, images and joints and I want to ask how powerful is LucidChart before I purchase the Premium Version. I want to migrate from Draw.io to a more power based canvas. I’m actually working with over 4000 objects and growing and I want it to not be laggy or not lose information caused by over-information.

Right now I have imported the XML file from Drawio and it goes well but I want to know if it’s capable to manage much more.

I hope for an answer. Thanks you!!

Hi @ProSigmaSoul,

Thank you for posting in the Lucid Community! It sounds like you’re looking for a high-performance canvas capable of managing thousands of objects with precision.

I’m happy to hear the XML import from draw.io went smoothly! While draw.io is a fine basic tool, Lucidchart is built for scale and intelligence. As you move beyond a simple import and begin building out more complex systems, you'll have access to a suite of intelligent diagramming and automation tools (mentioned in this article) that draw.io doesn't offer, such as:

  • Dynamic data: Automated data linking, refreshing, and replacing.

  • Advanced visualization: Conditional formatting, data-linked dashboards, and smart containers.

  • Custom logic: Formulas and custom shape data fields for deep technical mapping.

Regarding performance, we prioritize stability and data integrity. To ensure your large-scale documents remain snappy and responsive, we recommend these best practices:

  • Aim to stay under 10,000 objects per document for peak performance.

  • Minimize the use of heavy images and GIFs where possible.

  • If you need to share your work without requiring edits, use our Publish feature to create a high-speed, view-only URL.

You will find that Lucidchart offers the professional power and scalability required to go far beyond simple visual mapping. Unlike static tools, Lucidchart acts as a living source of truth. Instead of just moving shapes around on a page, you’re building a smart system that grows with your project. It gives you the room to tackle big ideas without the headache of busywork, since Lucidchart handles the tedious manual updates for you. To help you hit the ground running with these features, I recommend exploring these specific guides to help you with your workflow:

Please let me know if you have any additional questions! We look forward to having you use Lucid and are here to support you with whatever you need.
