We want to switch our account owner to a different user. I could not find the action to mark an user to be account owner.
Hi Jingli thanks for posting in the community! Only the account owner themselves has the ability to designate a new account owner. If you are for your account you can make this change through your admin panel under the Users tile. First select the user you would like to be the new account owner then select “Actions” then select “Make Account Owner”. If you are not the account owner for your account and want to request this change please get in touch with our support team here as we will need to request more information. Thanks!
will moving the account owner also move the documents/data to the new account owner?
And let's say the new account owner has an enterprise package but the existing one is only a team account?
Hi Rudy thanks for your comment!
- Changing the account owner will not move the documents of the previous account owner over to the new account owner. If you want to transfer documents from the previous account owner to the new one you can do so by deleting delicensing (Enterprise only) or removing (Team only) the user (after transferring the account ownership). Please take a look at the User Management article for more information on this.
- It is not possible that the new account owner is on a different subscription as account ownership can only be transferred to a user who is already part of your Team or Enterprise account.
Hope this helps!
