It seems so basic but I can't seem to scale text I imported from Miro but when I grab the text box the box gets smaller but text doesn't scale. It stays the same size. This is a bit of a nightmare. Help needed for simply scaling text so it's stay proportional as I change size of the box.
Hi @christina w
Thanks for posting in the Lucid Community! Our apologies for the difficulty. You can resize the text to stay proportional with your shapes by using the text toolbar and choosing the "auto" setting. This will automatically change the text size to match the shape which allows you to resize shapes and have the text automatically resize to match.
You can use the Select All shortcut (Cmd+A/Ctrl+A) if you'd like all of your shapes to adhere to this setting or select the specific shapes you'd like to alter then choose the "auto" setting for the text via the text options in the toolbar.
If you're experiencing issues with this functionality due to the Miro import would you mind sending in a support ticket and include a document support pin? We'd be happy to take a closer look at the issue!
I’m not reliably seeing that “auto” option when I select a textbox, whether I’m using LucidSpark, or LucidChart.
The auto option only appears when I do not have one of these text boxes selected.
As a service designer, being able to drag to scale textboxes while working in LucidSpark is critical to rapid design.

Hi
In the meantime, it looks like you should see the “Auto” option if you use the text box shape from Lucidchart. To add this, edit your Lucidspark board in Lucidchart via Universal Canvas and select this shape from the shape library:

I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions!
Hi
The reason why ‘Auto’ font size is not available is because text boxes in Lucidspark automatically grow with the text, whereas it does not do the same in Lucidchart. I’ve attached a GIF demonstrating the differences:

I hope this helps! Please feel free to let us know if you have any additional questions about this.
Thanks Leianne - I agree that’s the behavior with a brand new “Text Box” element.
The issue is that when I paste in an text element from an external source, or import from Miro, the elements do NOT have that resize behavior, which is the original issue I’m reporting.
Hi
If possible, could you please share the temporary Support PIN for an example document? This will allow me to take a closer look at the issue you’re experiencing.
For more information on generating a Support PIN, check out this Help Center article. This Support PIN doesn’t allow anyone but Lucid Support to take a look at your document, so you are safe to post it here.
Let me know if you have any questions, thank you!
