How do I remove the red box around my shapes?
How do I get rid of this layer? I cannot copy/paste, nor can I remove the layer as it is grayed out. When I attempt to right click the red box to remove layer it disappears.

The red box you are referring to is a border that outlines the locked content, signaling that the objects within that area are currently restricted from being edited or moved. This ensures that the content is purposefully secured.
It seems like in this case, it is content within a layer that is locked, hence why it appears greyed out as well. But rest assured, you can unlock it! Could you try hovering over the lock icon in the Layers panel, and click on it to “Unlock” the layer? The functionality works as such:
