I am experiencing an issue with an embedded Lucidchart on a SharePoint page. The embedded link toLucid.com intermittently stops working, displaying an error. However, when I clear my browser history and cache, or open the link in an InPrivate browsing window, it functions correctly again.

This issue is recurring, and I would like to find a permanent solution so that it does not happen moving forward. Could you please advise on potential fixes or settings adjustments that may prevent this from occurring?

Here are some additional details:

  • The issue affects multiple users.

  • Clearing cache/history temporarily resolves the problem.

  • The embedded Lucidchart is linked within a SharePoint page.

  • The error does not occur when using an InPrivate browsing session.

I appreciate any guidance you can provide to resolve this issue permanently. Please let me know if you need further details.

Hi Issac,

Thanks for posting in the Lucid Community! I’d be happy to help! For clarification, do you have any extensions? What browser are you using and is it up to date? I would suggest making sure you're using the most recent version of your browser. Additionally, Lucid is optimized for Google Chrome. For best performance, I would recommend using Chrome.

@IsaacC I imagine that’s frustrating! Glad you figured out a work-around by clearing the cache.  Cache is used to speed up a browser, and when images/files are cached that change you may often times receive an error.

About Cache: https://zapier.com/blog/what-is-a-cache/

Sharepoint has some cache settings you might be able to adjust: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/caching-issue-for-microsoft-project-files-stored/9edd0333-2107-4d76-9460-c4a6daddb96b

I look forward to hearing from you when you find the resolution!
