Sorry to hear you were having some trouble with navigating your board. I’m happy to hear that switching your navigation mode in board settings to Trackpad has solved this for you.
I do always recommend switching navigation mode depending on your preference. Here’s a bit more information on that from the Help Center article Navigate the Board and Canvas View Controls:

+1Choosing Trackpad, instead of Auto or Mouse in View / Navigation mode / … seems to solve the problem. 🤓 Auto must have been erratically jumping back and forth between Trackpad and Mouse settings.
