I want to know how would I know how big I can make a lucid chart to fit comfortably on a pdf or a regular printable page ? Its hard to gauge sizing.

Hi @suleiry m thanks for posting! That's a good question you can adjust your canvas to the required size using the Document Settings Menu. From there you should be able to adjust the canvas size - for example selecting A4 size.
Alternatively you can adjust the download settings when exporting your document to PDF or printing. For more information I recommend taking a look at this Help Center article about exporting and printing.
