Filter and highlight data-linked shapes

Hi all,

I use Lucid chart as a mapping system. I was wondering if theres a functionality to filtering the imported data linked file while on Lucid chart. mainly i have a column that categories types and i want to filter and highlight all of a certain type to be also highlighted on the lucid chart when selected. is this possible? thank you all!

Hi ​@sshen1, Thanks so much for thisquestion, and thanks to ​@Humas1985for the great answer here!I just wanted to add one thing that might help depending on what type of diagram you're working with — if this is (or could be) an org chart, Lucidchart actually has a built-in org chart filter feature that seems tomatchwhat you're describing. You can add filters based on data columns (like your Category field), and shapes that don't match simply won't appear on the canvas — no conditional formatting workaround needed for that use case!If your diagram isn't an org chart, then ​@Humas1985suggestions (conditional formatting, layers, or separate views per category) arethe best path forward right now, since there isn't a native interactive filter for general canvases yet.Let me know if you have any additional questions and I’m happy to point you to the right resources!

Hi ​@sshen1You can link the Category field from your imported dataset to the corresponding shapes and use conditional formatting to highlight shapes whose category matches a specified value. For example, you can create a rule such as Category = Type A to change the fill color of matching shapes.Lucidchart does not appear to offer a native interactive canvas filter that allows viewers to select a category value and automatically filter or highlight only the matching data-linked shapes.
