When selecting the Export option and then PDF, as you select pages that you want to be part of the document, the navigation of the document to preview those selected pages is broken.  Scrolling now zooms in and out which has always been a problem for any application I have used and you can no longer scroll down the page because of it.  Are things tested for functionality before they’re released?

Hi @Shelley D102, thank you for posting in the Community and thank you @Fishleigh19 and @aparrish for chiming in!

Just to make sure that we are on the same page, could you please clarify whether you are referring to simply the experience in the product, or an actual potential issue/bug during the process of exporting multiple pages to PDF?

To help us look into this, could you please provide a detailed description of the steps taken leading up to the issue, as well as screenshots of the issue?

In the meantime, I recommend going through our troubleshooting steps when exporting a Lucid document to rule a few things out.

I appreciate your help and patience!

@Shelley D102 Yes, Lucid has testers. Did you want a quick yes or no or did you want a resolution to your issue? First, I want to make sure we’re using the same vocabulary. Are you talking about the print dialog screen? Do you mean clicking the pointer on the scrollbar and dragging down or do you mean the mouse wheel? The mouse wheel has historically been used to zoom in and out in games.

Navigation has always been a little different on Lucid. I find that it helps to navigate by using a left-click drag movement with the mouse. You can also adjust settings if you want to navigate with the keyboard, mouse, or the touchpad.

To resolve the rest, please share the browser you use. A few typical troubleshooting techniques are to try a different browser, clear cache/cookies, and/or use incognito mode.

Hello Aparrish,

I have been using Lucid for almost 5 years so this is a new issue.  I do have a roller on my mouse and before it would not zoom in and out, it would scroll down.  I am using Google Chrome as I have been the entire time I have been using Lucid.  Nothing on my end has changed.  And you can’t scroll down.  Not even with the scroll bar on the right side, it moves a little bit but you cannot see all of the pages that you have selected anymore.  I understand your point about gaming, but Lucid’s not a game and it didn’t act like this before, it’s just become a frustration point since I see it as a bug but apparently no one has reported it and thus has not been fixed for a couple of months so I decided to report it but that process is now also a weird post board instead of just talking to someone, showing them the issue and have it reported to those who can fix it.

Hi Aparrish,

I just wanted to add that I’m experiencing the exact same issue. I actually came here to check whether I was the only one, so it’s reassuring (and a bit frustrating!) to see others having the same problem.

Like the original poster, I’ve been using Lucidchart for a number of years and this definitely feels like a recent change rather than something on the user side.

Previously, scrolling through pages during export/preview was smooth and intuitive. Now:

  • Scrolling (mouse wheel or scrollbar) is very limited and doesn’t allow you to properly view all selected pages, it zooms in and out, not up and down and there is no function to scroll down now.
  • It’s much harder to navigate between pages and check or alter cropping and formatting before export
  • The overall process feels less responsive than it used to

Nothing has changed in my setup either (still using Google Chrome), which makes it seem like a platform issue rather than a local one.

It would be really helpful if this could be looked into, as it’s impacting what used to be a very seamless workflow.
