Hi - I would like to be able to group a series of detailed processes into a generic process (ie have the ability to expand or contract processes) on a swim line chart. Is that possible and if so could you advise in detail how you can do it?
Hi Jeremy
Thanks for reaching out in the Lucid Community. That's an interesting question! You can achieve an effect similar to expanding/contracting processes by adding layers to your swim lane chart including the detailed processes in those layers and then using the layers in conjunction with hotspots to add interactivity to the diagram – e.g. show/hide the layers with the detailed proceses. To to learn more about how to use hotspots to hide show or toggle layers please take a look at our Create Multi-Layered Diagrams article from the Lucidchart Help Center. And to go over the details of how to add interactivity to your diagrams with hotspots and shape actions review our Actions (Links) and Hotspots article.
You may also want to use this template as an inspiration to incorporate layers and hotspots to your diagram.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions!
