For an assignment in class my classmates are trying to share a lucid blank document and every time I click accept invitation in my email it brings me to lucid but says “To view this document you need to be a member of the account it was shared from”.

First, I recommend your classmates try to use another sharing method as described here.
Specifically, they can try toggling on the Shareable link option and granting them access using the steps below.
- Open the Lucid document you’d like to share
- Select Share in the top-right corner of the document
- Toggle on Shareable link
- In the dropdown, select the option for Any logged in user or Anyone with the link
- Select Copy link and send the link to your classmate
