Hi There,
I have been using Lucid for a few years now.  I recently created a diagram in Lucid chart. When I went to log in the next day, my drawing disappeared.  The file is there, but there is no content.  I have checked the version history, and all of those are blank as well.  I have a copy of the drawing, which I downloaded as a PDF, so I know there was content there previously. How can I get it back in Lucid chart?

Thanks!

Hi @jmemalia, thank you for posting in the community! In addition to the steps @Ria S shared, I wanted to share this following post which might help if you can see the work when you hover your cursor over the document in your document list:

Please let us know if none of these steps help and our team will be happy to help take a closer look. Thanks!

Hi @jmemalia

Thanks for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re experiencing.

If the file is visible in your Lucidchart documents list but shows no content and the version history is also blank, there are a few steps we can take to troubleshoot.

  1. You can check for multiple accounts - Sometimes, users accidentally create or access files under different accounts (e.g. personal vs. work emails). Please confirm that you're logged into the correct Lucidchart account where the diagram was originally created.

  2. Try reviewing the document permissions. If the file was shared with you or edited in collaboration, it’s worth checking if any permissions were changed or if the content was unintentionally deleted by a collaborator.

  3. Verify the File ID and metadata. Lucid’s support team can investigate further using the file ID. You can find this by opening the file and copying the URL from your browser – it should look something like https://lucid.app/documents/view/[file-ID]. You can also create a document support PIN  to allow a Lucid support agent to view a document and assist you in troubleshooting. Steps to get this done can be found here: Generate a Lucid Support PIN – Lucid

  4. Since you have a copy of the diagram in PDF format, you can upload it back into Lucidchart and manually rebuild the diagram if needed. While this isn’t ideal, it can serve as a workaround while the Support agent investigates the original file.

I hope this is helpful. Please keep me posted if you need any further assistance.
