I created a layer and dragged a custom icon onto that layer and suddenly there are 2 layers with the same name. I can toggle visibility individually but if I remove one they both get deleted. It's confusing to a user of my template and its weird.

This may be happening because the custom icon is being inserted as a grouped or system-generated element rather than a separate layer object.
- Even though it appears as two layers with the same name, they may be linked to the same underlying objects, which would explain why deleting one removes both.
A possible workaround is to assign objects to layers through the Layers panel instead of drag-and-drop insertion
