This seems so silly, but why is it I cannot drag an object to re-size its height? The UI appears to give me an angled, double-arrow cursor, but once I use my mouse to select, the height does not change, only the width. Please help me.
Hi
Thank you for reaching out! It sounds like the object you are trying to resize may have locked aspect ratio settings or specific constraints that prevent independent height adjustments. Here are a few things to check:
Verify Lock Settings – Select the object, then check the right-side panel under “Size & Position” to see if “Maintain aspect ratio” is enabled. If so, uncheck it to allow independent resizing.
Check Shape Type – Some shapes (e.g., swim lanes, containers, tables) have predefined structure constraints. Try resizing while holding the Shift key to override proportional adjustments.
Use the Resize Handles – Ensure you are dragging the top or bottom resize handle (not the side handles, which only adjust width).
Check Grouping Restrictions – If the object is part of a grouped selection, ungroup it first (right-click > Ungroup) and try resizing again.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, could you let me know which shape you’re working with or share a screenshot? I’d be happy to assist further!
