Hi All.  I purchased a one year subscription of LucidChart on the basis of getting rid of my Windows laptop that I have always used Microsoft Visio to design small projects around the house.  I found Viso to be so good that I could design to exact measurments in cutting wood e.g. 14.625” long by 3.5” wide etc.  I am finding that LucidChart doesnt have all those feature and wanted to know if anyone out there is using the software for projects like decks, house, or garage designs and how you managed to find work arounds with LucidCharts?

For example using settings for:

Measurements - able to set up to three decimal places - e.g. 118.123 inches

Measurements - going beyond the limit of 125 inches - other than scaling

Using rectangular shapes and making them the size of lumber 2”x4”s, 2”x8”s etc. ?

Thanks in advance.

@brianry I personally was able to use Lucidchart to help me when I moved into an apartment, but I do not think it can be set to the thousandth place. If you would like that super precise feature you mentioned, I’d suggest moving this to the product feedback section so other users can upvote it so it can get into a future iteration of Lucid.

However, you should absolutely be able to resize rectangular shapes and go beyond 125”. A house can absolutely be more than 10 feet long. Here’s the official Lucid documentation on creating a floor plan to scale: https://help.lucid.co/hc/en-us/articles/15990705664788-Create-floor-plans-to-scale-in-Lucidchart

If you want a super small or super large diagram, you will also have to consider printing paper size.
