Hey guys !
I read somewhere that you can't create a custom color palette but is there any way that you make it available for a company to define a "theme" or a "corporate palette" regarding to the brand colors ?
Do I need a special role to define it or is it just not possible at all ?
If so is that planned in a incoming update ?

Thanks !

Hi Elliot

Thanks for reaching out! Creating a custom color palette is not currently offered by Lucidchart.

As a workaround to this situation you may want to consider the following:

1) Identify your brand colors on Lucidchart using either the eyedropper tool or entering coloring values manually.

2) Drag shapes onto the canvas and color each shape with a different brand color.

3) Create a custom shape library and drag these shapes (with brand colors) from the canvas into the newly created custom shape library.

4) Give all users access to the custom shape library.

Now whenever anyone on your team needs to access these colors they can pull these shapes onto the canvas and use the eyedropper tool to get the correct color values.

Hope this helps!

Hi

I found this issue while trying to figure out how to manage colors in a diagram when the color list (not quite most-recently-used but somewhat) at the top of the palette gets full and doesn't always update after for example because I have too many custom colors going on.

Ryan in your suggestion you have #3 as a step. I think this would help in the case I'm having but I'm curious if the color list is working as expected.

Hi Dave

Thanks for reaching out to the Lucid community. The section of the color palette that contains custom colors will fill up and will not be able to include any additional custom colors that are added to the document after that point. If you would like to promote the idea of a new function for the custom palette to our development team please fill out the feature request form (linked above). I apologize for any inconvenience that this causes. Let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns!

I created the Color Pallete for my organization with all the 6 digit Hex numbers codes right now it lies in My Saved Shapes... I even toggled the Share button from off to on but how do I ensure the organization I am at has access to this color palette and can complete the following steps? (mentioned by Ryan H on September 07 2018)

4) Give all users access to the custom shape library.

Now whenever anyone on your team needs to access these colors they can pull these shapes onto the canvas and use the eyedropper tool to get the correct color values.

Hi Anthony

Thanks for posting in the community! If you  have shared your custom shape library through the option in top right there will be a section under "My Libraries" called "Shared With Me." When you have enabled the share option on your custom library it will become available to other members on your Team or Enterprise account by searching or through the "Shared with Me" drop-down. Please let me know if you have any further questions!

I shared this with a team member. It appears in the my saved shapes but when I toggle it to share it does not end up in the Shared with me for either me or my team member. Can I get more help with this?

Hi Anthony thanks for following up. So that we can take a closer look at what could be causing this I've created a support ticket. An agent will be following up shortly over email to get more information.

Thank You I will keep an out for the follow up

So let's get back to the original question from 5(!) years ago: How do we create a corporate color scheme that is the default for the entire enterprise account?

Seems like pretty basic functionality.

How do I set the default color palette for everyone in my company. I want my brand colors not Lucidcharts defaults.

I shouldn't have to create a share custom shapes for every shape my teams might want

Hi Jordan thanks for continuing this thread. Unfortunately creating a custom color palette is still unsupported in Lucidchart. I certainly understand though how this would be an improvement over styling custom shapes each time your team needs on-brand resources and I've logged this feedback for review by our development team. It utilizes feedback like this when prioritizing improvements to Lucidchart. Apologies for the inconvenience and thanks for the feedback!

An alternative workaround to the custom shapes option described above is to create a custom template. While it would still require you to set default styles you could include your custom shape library as part of it which may be a more efficient starting point. Copying shape style from existing pre-styled shapes in the custom libraries to others may be helpful as well.

Here’s the updated direct link to the request that you can upvote. All the older links are no longer working.

Also wanted to be sure to update this thread with a great post that details workarounds here that can help you create a functional palette with your brand colors.
