As a project manager, I’m looking for a very simple Gantt-style capability within Lucid that allows me to:

  • Add tasks as rows
  • Define start/end dates or durations per task
  • Automatically visualise these as horizontal bars against a timeline

I do not require:

  • Resource or team allocation
  • Dependencies, critical path, or advanced scheduling features

The goal is a lightweight planning view for sequencing and effort visibility only.

Can you please confirm:

  1. Whether Lucidchart (or another Lucid product) natively supports this style of task‑vs‑timeline visualisation
  2. If so, which shape libraries, data fields, or templates are recommended
  3. If not, what the closest supported pattern is (e.g. data‑linked shapes, timeline components, or integrations)

Hi @David Brooks

Lucidchart can support a simple Gantt-style view using timeline or Gantt templates, where tasks are shown as horizontal bars across a time axis. However, this is primarily a manual, grid-based visualization, it doesn’t natively generate bars from task data (start/end or duration), and finer control (like partial durations within a time unit) depends on the timeline scale you choose.
