We use the Jira integration in Lucidspark with dynamic tables and heavily use the functionality to create dependency links by drawing line connections.

Today it stopped prompting for what kind of link we’d like to create and cannot figure out what has changed. The cards are still linked and refreshing, but when we draw a connection, it just creates a standard line instead of offering to create a Jira link.

We’re trying not to start over as the dynamic table has a good amount of custom rows we’ve organized cards in.

Hi @PB_Savage Co.

Reconnecting the Jira integration is a recommended and commonly suggested troubleshooting step for the issue where connector lines no longer prompt to create Jira links.

This community thread covers closer to the same issue - Trouble linking Jira issues together | Community

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards

@Humas1985 thanks!

One interesting behavior is that if you draw a connection between existing Jira cards on the board, then it does not offer to create a link. However, if I sync completely new Jira cards to the board and draw a connection between them, then it offers to link them. If I draw a connection between one of the new cards and an existing card, it doesn’t offer to link them.

It’s almost as if all cards on the board at some point stopped being recognized as a Jira card in a way that prompts the linking option upon connection.

I’ll try reconnecting the Jira Integration.

@PB_Savage Co.

That's a great observation

Keep me posted if the reconnection makes a difference.

@Humas1985 no luck on the Jira reconnect.

We’re trying to think of other ways to force it re-recognition of those shapes so we don't have to blow away our dynamic table with custom columns, but it’s looking like that’s the only option.

@Humas1985

Well, we found something that works. If you cut the shape and paste it back onto the board, the application re-recognizes it as a ‘Jira Card’ for functionality relating to making links through connections and manually syncing it.

This was ‘ok’ but it didn’t paste back into the same spot in the dynamic table.

However, if you select all shapes on the board, cut them, then undo the cut it populates everything where it was and re-recognizes all the Jira Cards. So far, all linking functionality is working again for all cards!

So, the workaround for us is:
Select All Shapes: CTRL+A
Cut All Shapes: CTRL+X
Undo Cut: CTRL+Z

All linking functionality is back. :)

@PB_Savage Co.

Amazing job figuring that out! - that's a clever workaround.

Thanks for sharing the solution.
