Does anyone know where I can get additional Cisco Switch shapes to add?  We have 48 port switches in some areas and I would like to have the correct switch layout in my diagrams.

Thanks!

Hi @MW330,

Thanks for posting in the Lucid Community!

Here are a few ways to get additional Cisco shapes to add to your diagrams.

The first option is to add Cisco shapes by clicking “Shapes” in the contextual panel, clicking “More shapes”, searching for the “Cisco” shape library and clicking “Use selected shapes” (see screenshots with step-by-step instructions below).

*Note: There are additional Cisco shapes in the “Cisco Import” and “Cisco Shape Stencil” shape libraries. (see image below)

If you are needing to add additional Cisco shapes (having mentioned needing 48-port switch shapes), please follow these instructions below:

  • Download official Cisco stencils by going to the Cisco Visio Stencil Listing page. Look for the specific series you are using.

  • Once you download the .vss or.vssx file from Cisco:

    1. Open your Lucidchart document.

    2. Click + Shapes at the bottom of the left panel.

    3. Click the Import Shapes button in the bottom-left of the manager window.

    4. Select your Visio stencil file. These shapes will now live in your "My Libraries" section and will maintain their high-quality layout. (See image below)

  • If you just need a one-off visual, you can search for the switch model online and drag and drop any SVG or PNG file directly onto your canvas, right-click it, and select Add to Custom Shape Library to reuse it later.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions!
