Question

Can't interact with layers in presentation view

I could not interact layers (linked to main layer) in presentation view now.
It supposed to show/hide layers when I click the button already linked to that layers in presentation view, but now I could only  show/hide layers in non presentation view with  ” Press ‘Shift+Ctrl‘ + click“

Could any one help me on this? Thanks you very much!

Hi @Sean Song , thanks for your post in the community! Could you share a temporary Document Support PIN for this document? This will help me take a closer look at what’s going on. This PIN is safe to post in this thread because it is only accessible by members of the Lucid support staff. You can find steps for generating a Support PIN in this Lucid Help Center article: Generate a Lucid Support PIN.

Thanks for your quick response!  Since another user @steve87  already provided their Support Pin (with a similar issue), could you please share the finding after checking theirs , thank you very much!

Hi, thanks for your patience here. In standard Presentation View (Present mode), canvas interactions like layer toggle actions are intentionally disabled because the slides are rendered as static presentation frames. To maintain full interactivity with layer actions while walking through your document, use Paths mode instead of standard Present mode. To do so:

  1. Select the Presentation Builder icon in the top-right corner of your Lucidchart canvas.

  2. At the bottom-right of the presentation panel, click the dropdown arrow next to the present button and choose Start path.

  3. Click Start path. This mode keeps the workspace live, allowing you and your audience to click linked hot-spots/buttons directly to toggle layer visibility without using modifier keys (Shift+Ctrl).

Can you please check if that works?

Hi, I tried “Smart Paths” mode, still couldn’t interact with layers (I tried both “Click” & “Shift+Ctrl → Click”)
