Is it possible to convert a Word document into a Lucid chart?   I have a table with headers in a Word document that I would like to be converted into a process diagram.  I saw Word document as a choice but then it disappeared.

Hi @jjenks

There is no option for directly importing Word documents (.docx) to automatically generate diagrams or flowcharts from tables or text.

  • Instead, the integration between Lucidchart and Word allows you to create diagrams in Lucidchart and embed them into Word documents using the Lucidchart add-in for Microsoft Word.
  • If you need to convert a Word table into a Lucidchart diagram, you have two options, manually copy and paste the table content into Lucidchart and build your diagram from scratch, or copy the table into Excel or Google Sheets, save as a CSV, and use Lucidchart's data import tools to auto-generate diagram elements.

Please note that some manual data preparation is required to turn Word-based content into visual diagrams in Lucidchart

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards

Thank you for the response.

Hi @jjenks, thank you for posting in the Lucid Community! Thank you @Humas1985 for your help here.

While it’s not possible to convert a Word document directly into a Lucidchart document, the suggestions that @Humas1985 provided here are good alternatives.

The following articles from the help center would be great starting points to learning more about what options are available:

Please let me know if you have any more questions here and I’d be happy to help further!
