It seems that a drop-down arrow to hide/show the contents of an Entity (key/field/type) was recently added to the Entity’s header, which increases the minimum width of the shape. This is an issue for my use case as I need the Entity to be smaller than this now allows.
I haven’t been able to find a way to disable this drop-down arrow from poking around the menus, but I’m hoping there’s an easy toggle or something like that to turn it off. Picture for reference:

And as an example of how it’s caused an issue - here’s a before and after of an existing document, with the ‘after’ being if I attempt to move the layer with the entities, which causes them all to re-adjust their size because of the arrow:

Hi @Ben_Wong, thank you for posting in the community! We have raised this with our development team and they’ve confirmed that they are working on a fix.

I apologize for any disruption this may cause, and we will update this thread with any new information about a fix.

Please follow along on this thread for updates, and post any additional questions or concerns below.

Hi @Ben_Wong, we have good news! Our development team has let me know that the issue should now be resolved. The chevron shape/arrows have been removed and you should also be able to adjust the width of your shapes once again.

If you have any shapes that are collapsed, you can now expand them using the panel on the right. This panel can now be used to expand/collapse your shapes as shown below.

I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

If you’re still seeing the issue or have any other questions, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help!

Thank you, that’s resolved my issue!

Happy to hear this has been resolved for you @Ben_Wong

This now seems to have reappeared as floating chevrons to the right of entities and is overlaying other parts of the diagram to the right of any entities:

I assume this is another attempt to achieve the same, can you please make this an optional/controllable feature? I can see it can be useful in some cases but shouldn’t be taking valuable screen space like this!

Hi @Paul Mardling, thank you for adding to this thread with your feedback on this feature! I certainly see what you’re saying here.

If you click outside of the ERD shape, the chevron arrows should disappear. Have you found this to be the case, or do they persist?

Hi Ambar,

I’ve just reopened the document and the chevrons are persistent, I can’t find any way to make them disappear from the document. I’ve just create a new blank document as a test and any entity I add also has the chevrons.

Best,

Paul

Hi @Paul Mardling, thanks for following up here to confirm that!

Can you please send a temporary Support PIN for one of these documents? This will allow me to take a closer look at the issue you’re experiencing. For more information on generating a Support PIN, check out this Help Center article. This PIN is only accessible by Lucid’s support staff, so it is safe to share within this thread.
