Can I disable zooming when clicking shapes?

When I click some shapes in my Lucidchart, the viewport automatically centers on the element and zooms in, which is really distracting. I’d like to prevent this behavior and keep the zoom/focus unchanged when selecting shapes.

This only happens when some of the elements are clicked, for others it doesn’t do this. Navigation mode is set to Trackpad.

Hi @Schlezi, thank you for following up! I haven’t been able to reproduce the behaviour described. Let me move our conversation to a private support ticket so that I can take a closer look. Please keep an eye out for an email from Lucid Support!

@Schlezi I don’t think this is a current feature in Lucid, but someone else has encountered a similar issue. You might want to consider upvoting this other user’s idea in the Product feedback section and adding your own feedback so that it will be considered for a future iteration.

Hey! The linked topic is about the context menu automatically opening up. My issue is that for some of the elements, when clicked, the diagram automatically centers the element and zooms in, this is very distracting, when you jump between elements.

I would like to select a zoom level, and then select and work on the various elements, without the viewport changing. This is the default for new diagrams, and only happens for some of the shapes.

So I either believe this is a bug, or some shape property, which I don’t know yet….

Hi @Schlezi, thank you for posting in the community! It sounds like this is happening to some specific shapes/elements. Would you mind sharing a screenshot of the shape library that the shapes are coming from? Is it a Lucid default shape or one that you imported on your end?

Could you also share a temporary Document Support PIN for this document? This will help me take a closer look at what’s going on. This PIN is safe to post in this thread because it is only accessible by members of the Lucid support staff. You can find steps for generating a Support PIN in this Help Center article

Thanks in advance for your help and patience! Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.

@Leianne C I am just using a standard Block shape from Lucid. I’m sharing you a support pin via private message

@Leianne C Looks like I’m unable to send you a PM. How should the pin be shared?
