Hi everyone,

I'm using Lucidchart to map out progression systems for an interactive project and I'm trying to determine the most effective way to visualize branching paths, difficulty scaling, and user progression.

As a test case, I've been creating a workflow diagram based on a platform-style project similar to windows geometry dash, where users move through increasingly challenging stages and can take different progression routes.

I'm currently deciding between:

  • Traditional flowcharts
  • User journey maps
  • Mind maps
  • Custom process diagrams

My goals are to keep the diagram easy to maintain while still showing dependencies, progression paths, and milestone checkpoints.

Questions:

  1. Which Lucidchart template works best for visualizing level progression systems?
  2. How do you handle large diagrams without making them difficult to navigate?
  3. Do you prefer using layers, containers, or linked pages for complex flows?
  4. Are there any best practices for presenting progression maps to stakeholders who aren't familiar with technical diagrams?

I'd appreciate any recommendations or examples from others who have used Lucidchart for similar planning and visualization projects.
