Are there no simple 3-D shapes? Cube Cylinder etc?
Hi there! Thanks for posting in the community. We do have a cylinder shape in our Flowchart shape library but no we do not currently have a specific 3D shapes library. If you'd like you can upload your own shapes if you wish or you can search for images and icons to find something that may work for you. This article goes through how you can do this. Hope this helps!
I would like 3D shapes like cubes too. Please add this to the shapes library
Agree in addition would like 3d Renderings
Hi
Thank you for additional feedback! We’re very interested in your feedback and committed to continually improving our products. I would recommend posting this as an idea as product feedback. To do this, please first search the Product Feedback section of this community (with the filter Topic Type = Idea) to see if it’s already been submitted. If so, please add any additional details you’d like and upvote the request - this consolidation helps to refine feedback and properly capture the popularity of the request.
If no one has submitted this idea yet, please create one of your own and be sure to include details about your use case or what you’d like to see in this experience. This will also allow other users with similar requests to discover and upvote it, then add details of their own.

Hi Kelsey, perhaps some ideas or context might help. 3D shapes, typically generated in a CAD package like NX, SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, etc. can be exported to varied neutral file formats:
- STEP AP242 - CAD geometry support plus PMI (product manufacturing information)
- QIF - qaulity information framework for performing automated CMM machine inspections, etc.
- 3D PDF - Adobe extension embedded 3D object rendering in a PDF
- 3D XML - displayed in an HTML page
- JT (Siemens Jupiter Tessalation) - 3D approximation meant for downstream CAM operations
all of the above are geometic approximations of the original native CAD geometry for specific applications.
As in the case of 3D PDF (MIL-STD 31000 TDP) Adobe uses a 3rd party pluggin to view the embedded 3D file. Lucid could do the same … just a thought
Hi
Thank you for the reply and the additional feedback. I definitely agree that this would be a useful addition to Lucid. I’ve converted this thread and post to be an idea in the community so that it can be upvoted by other users.
