Share your feedback on searching for and finding shapes and shape libraries in the new Lucidchart.

Hi Lucid Community! My name is Matthew Orr, and I’m a UX Researcher here at Lucid.

Thank you to everyone who has shared their feedback on the New Lucidchart. We’re working extremely hard to integrate your feedback into the new experience.

We are investigating how to improve the search experience and are very curious about how you find and use shapes and tools in the
New Lucidchart, and we’d love to hear your feedback and help to make this experience better!

  • Who we’d like to talk to: Frequent Lucidchart users who frequently search for shapes (both individual shapes and libraries).
  • Format: 1:1 Zoom Call with our Design Team.
  • What we’ll ask: During the call, we’ll ask you how you currently use search to find shapes and shape libraries as well show you some new approaches that we are testing.

Interested in shaping the future of Lucidchart? 👉 Book the call here.

Or paste this into your browser: https://calendly.com/morr-lucidchart/lucid-research-call-int-1

If you’re not interested in hopping on a call, we’d still like to hear about your experience. Feel free to drop a comment below answering any of the discussion questions listed here! We’ll still review and consider feedback in this thread.

Questions up for discussion

  • How do you go about finding what you need in the New Lucidchart (e.g., shapes, tools, etc.)?
  • Are there any challenges you have encountered using custom or saved shape libraries in the New Lucidchart?
  • What, if anything, about the search experience in the New Lucidchart presents a challenge for you and the way you work in Lucidchart?
  • How does the New Lucidchart search experience compare to what you are used to in Legacy Lucidchart?
  • When you search for items in the New Lucidchart, do you add them to Document Tools, use them on the canvas immediately, or something else?
  • Is there anything about the search experience in the New Lucidchart that you would like us to understand from your perspective?
