To clarify, are you using a Lucidspark whiteboard?  If so, you can use the quick key “P” to use the pen, and “E” to switch to the eraser.  

Additional quick keys while in a Lucidspark whiteboard that you may find useful include:

• Z = Laser pointer
• pShift] + P = highlighter

I should have been more specific. I am writing on the Lucidspark whiteboard using a digital tablet.

Thus a digital pen is in my hand. I am aware of the P and E options, but I was hoping there was a more seamless way because that requires switching to a keyboard interface from my pen interface just  to use the eraser. I was hoping there was a way to do everything with a pen without 2-3 clicks. Perhaps a way to make both the pen and eraser icon to show at the same time on a toolbar and I can just click the one I need at the moment with my digital pen. For now, it takes 3 clicks with the pen to switch bc you first have to open a menu.

Currently Lucid doesn’t have the functionality with a pen to switch tools, but we’re very interested in your feedback and committed to continually improving our products. If you’re willing to share, we’d love to hear more details about your use case or what you’d like to see in this experience within this thread. I’ve also converted this post to an idea so that it’s visible to others within the Product Feedback section of the community - from here, they can upvote it and add details of their own.

An example of something that would function better would be a way to go from pen to eraser using only the physical digital pen - so no need to use the physical keyboard.

One was to accomplish this would be to have a customizable menu bar where I could add the pen icon and the eraser icon. Then I can select the pen icon using my digital pen when I want to write and select the eraser icon when I need to erase - no need to open menus or involve another hand to use my keyboard.

This solution would also allow users to place any icons they use often on the customizable toolbar - improving user efficiency.

As of now, I have found that if I am erasing, I can return to the pen if I click on the eraser icon and then double click on the color. That is slightly better than having to click the eraser icon, then the arrow, then the pen icon. Either way it is 3 clicks to go from one to the other and it should really be one click for classroom efficiency.
