What’s the Future of AI-Powered Workflows?

AI is already changing how people work, collaborate, and manage daily tasks, but it still feels like we’re only at the beginning.

Right now, many workflows involve switching between multiple tools, manually reviewing outputs, and spending time organizing information that AI should theoretically handle more efficiently. At the same time, new AI-powered systems are becoming smarter, faster, and more integrated into everyday work.

I’m curious how others see the future of AI-powered workflows evolving over the next few years.

Do you think AI will eventually handle most repetitive and operational tasks automatically? Will workflows become more centralized around AI assistants, or will teams continue relying on multiple disconnected tools?

What changes are you most excited about, and what challenges do you think still need to be solved before AI workflows become truly seamless?

Would love to hear different perspectives, predictions, and real-world experiences from people actively using AI tools today.

Hi @romquesta, thank you for posting in the Lucid Community! These are great questions and I’m excited to see what others think.

For me, I’m certainly excited about all the ways in which using AI workflows will help my team work more at scale- specifically when it comes to finding specific content in a large body of work.

I’d love to hear about your favorite use case. How are you using AI in your work right now and what challenges are you running into? Have you had a chance to check out any of our AI features in Lucid?

I think your questions here are right along the line of what we’ll be discussing in next week’s Lately @ Lucid webinar: Visualizing systems and processes to drive AI transformation. The webinar will explore the challenges that lead many AI initiatives to fail- things like lack of documentation around EA architecture, processes, data flows, etc.
