Team Maturity Assessment template
My team created the original of this template to standardise the way we assessed our professional practices (think Application Specialists, Developers, Testers, Architects etc.); once all the ratings had been added, we manually did the maths to calculate the maturity score. This took time and was prone to errors, which got me thinking. The result is this version of the template which uses Lucid’s formulae to automate the calculations and show the result.

As you enter a score for a question, the totals for that section, and for the overall results are calculated; if a question is not applicable, leave the score blank and it will be ignored in all calculations. The scoring scale has been set at 1-5 and changing that is not trivial.

I’ve set up the locking so that you can click into the score boxes to enter a score and you can click into the questions to change them to suit,

Team maturity assessment template v2

Here’s an updated version of the template that uses a table as the container for questions and scores, rather than a collection of shapes. The benefits are that calculations and text reside in the table; when the table is copied and pasted, the formulae continue to work and refer to the new table automatically.

I’ve set up the template for 10 teams and have included a Summary table to present the teams’ data in one place.

I’ve also included instructions on how to add extra teams and keep the Summary table up-to-date.
